In custom aluminum fabrication, the material can be aluminum sheet metal and aluminum alloy profiles including oxidized profiles, electrophoretic profiles, powder sprayed profiles. For the surface treatment, most commonly used is powder coat and anodize.
Let's take a look at the difference between the two.
Aluminum Anodization And Sandblasting
Oxidation is to use the substrate as an anode and place it in an electrolyte for electrolysis to form a protective oxide film on the surface of the substrate.

Oxidation process: substrate → loading and hanging → degreasing → washing → alkaline etching → washing → neutralization → washing → anodizing → washing → electrolytic coloring → washing → sealing → washing → drying → unloading → inspection → packaging.
Aluminum product with anodise has below features:
1. It has strong wear resistance, weather resistance and corrosion resistance.
2. A variety of colors can be formed on the surface of the substrate to best suit your requirements.
3. Strong hardness, suitable for the production of various construction and industrial materials
Oxidation products include: oxidized flat white material, oxidized colorant, oxidized frosted white material, oxidized frosted colorant.
Powder coating Aluminum
Powder coating aluminum, its process is a process including chroming, powder spraying, baking and so on. After powder coating, the paint film should be baked and cured to form a hard and hard colored paint film on the original aluminum surface. It forms a kind of protection for the aluminum material, and its adhesion, uniformity and weather resistance make the color of the aluminum material smoother and more uniform, and make the aluminum material resistant to acid.

The basic principle is: it is made of thermosetting saturated polyester powder, after chromizing treatment, the color is attached to the surface of the product by spraying and drying at 200°C.
Powder coating process: picking → blowing aluminum scraps → inspection → arranging → water washing → degreasing and degreasing → water washing → pure water washing → chroming → water washing → soft pure water washing → dripping water → drying → testing → unloading and discharging → inspection → Putting on the shelf → soot blowing → powder spraying → inspection → curing → off the shelf → inspection → packaging → storage.
